Reliable sources informed Al-Maqdese that the Israeli Interior Minister has frozen the 2020 scheme for Jerusalem city for unknown period of time.

According to Al-Maqdese, a petition regarding the translation of the full scheme to the Arabic language has been introduced to the Central Committee in order to increase awareness of all East Jerusalem citizens about the content of the mentioned scheme.

Al-Maqdese explained that the Jerusalem Municipality ignores the presence of the Palestinian population in Jerusalem and treats them as if non-existent, although it knows that there is about 270.000 Palestinians living in Jerusalem, which represents about 35% of the whole population of Jerusalem.

AL-Maqdese also noted that is very interested in this subject and it is studying in detail the final version of the scheme. Furthermore, Al-Maqdese in cooperation with other organizations and  intends to submit three objections in three specific regions, which are to be announced at a later stage.
